5th Grade Scrabble Tournament

5th Grade Scrabble TournamentThe year Oak Pointe Elementary held a scrabble tournament for the entire 5th grade class. Honestly I had no idea about it until Tristen mentioned that we made it to the semi-finals with his partner Cooper.

Apparently the entire 5th grade paired up to compete in a grade wide tournament of scrabble. After Tristen announce that he made it to the semi-finals we began encouraging him and praising him. Then when he came home this week and announce that he was going to the finals — we couldn’t have been more pleasantly surprised! The finals we held on the last day of school and conducted by Principal Stevens himself. The final game came down to Tristen, his partner Cooper, and two other girls — you could have cut the tension in that room with a knife! The game was shown on a large movie screen so that everyone in the audience could see what was happening. There were time when we would question what they were doing but in the end they won — and by a land slide too! The final score was something like 130 points to 60 points. We are so proud of Tristen and his accomplishments especially his scholastic ones.

Nice Job Tristan. Way to kick butt. Did you win anything cool? Pizza party? Anything good?
